Hello, and welcome to the first post on the BarryThinks blog.  I work for a FTSE 100 Defence/Security company in the north of England.  I used to have a movie review blog on WordPress but found it too restrictive.  I decided I wanted something more personal, more varied where I could go wherever my heart takes me.

So what to expect?  I have a few ideas and I plan to pass on my tips for success in a corporate environment, updates on how I am trying to improve myself as a person, fitness/nutrition and how I am planning for a comfortable future.  I will do my best to feature real life data including my own screw ups because  my God nobody’s perfect least of all me.  To error is to be human and the key is how you bounce back.  I made a £1m mistake on a spreadsheet at work this week – lesson learned.  I caught it so no damage done but you better believe I’ll triple check your work next time.

I’ve also had an idea for a funny new series of comedy shorts based on a fictional ant colony called “The Worker Ants Chronicles” but need to bottom that out yet.  So get ready world for a dangerous ride into the inner workings of my mind.

As for the photo that was taken close to Lulworth Cove in Dorset – probably my favourite country in Britain although its a close battle with Cumbria.
